THE
NOISE
"On the surface
this trio is hard to fit into a convenient slot, though
I suppose you could call 'em post-indie boom, post-grunge
crypto-emo-core. In other words, loud and nasty at
times but with brains and saving finesse, which means
they're never a drag ... Give this band a couple more
years and they'll probably blow all our minds."
SMOTHER MAGAZINE (Editors Pick)
"The four songs on this
self-titled release are all intelligent rockers
with a careful fusion of aggressiveness and melody.
Other emo-core bands could learn from this. No doubt
they will be courted by college radio all over the
country and why not? Itd be nice for a change
to hear a band with talent and not ones that arent
listenable but make the 20-something DJ feel cool
because hes the only one on campus with their
first 7."
NOREASTERZINE
"Bird Gets
the Smile can be as pretty and emo as Braid, and then
sometimes swing into the mathy abandon of Don Caballero,
seemingly led into the loud breach by the heavy drumming
of Andrew Ellinghaus. The moments that these guys
get loud and edgy the songs have all the promise of
a gas tank on fire, but not yet exploded..."
LOLLIPOP MAGAZINE
"Second
release from this Boston/Miami trio, as full of Jawbox-isms
and mid-90's post-hardcore as ever. Dueling vocal
harmonies over dissonant arpeggios and noisy distortion
make for a ying yang effect of poppy/ sinewy combo
that's tasty to this mouth. I bet there's a lot
of Dischord records between the band members."
THE SCENE ACCORDING
TO...
"Go pick
up this CD today and you can say 'I loved them when...'
as they explode onto the scene which they are sure
to do."
