Somewhere along the line popular music became trite, generic and predictable. Major labels clamor and push to sign purely imitative artists in order to capitalize financially on current market trends and tastes. In the process they make an ungodly amount of money. Trapped in their own conventional formulas, they flood the market with one-hit wonders who ride in on coattails and bring nothing new to the table. Style is rampant and substance is greatly lacking. This makes for a treacherous musical landscape where talent is subverted by image and fashion flair. When originality and integrity become luxuries and not necessities, musical horizons begin to shrink along with the realm of creative possibilities.
Our goal is to support creative and talented independent artists in and out of the Atlanta area, and assist them in getting their music out to the people by releasing, distributing, and/or promoting their records. No tricks, no gimmicks. Just pure music. |

| .:. DEMO POLICY |

| Reason Y Records is always on the lookout for up-and-coming artists and exciting new music. Any and all bands or musicians are encouraged to send in their demo for review; a response is guaranteed. Simply mail us a press kit along with your CD (this is the preferable method) or send us an email with the URL of your site where we can download your music ourselves. We will take time to review your submission and respond as soon as we are able. While there is no one particular style of music that we are looking for, please realize that verse-chorus-verse repetition and return will not cut it here. If you think that Sum 41 and Blink 182 are "edgy," or if you're looking to go mainstream with your music, you're probably better off looking elsewhere. |
