Did we mention that 2008 was going to be a year of change? We friggin' told you so. Well, here we are just a month into things and we've got some big news for all you CHARLIE HUSTLE fans out there. The band has reported that vocalist Joe Voisin has split ways with the group. According to Justin and Ben, the split was amicable and they wish Joe the best of luck in his future endeavors. Those of you fearing a long layoff, though, take heart as the boys have already found a replacement in the form of former Piston Honda frontman Jake Cook. The word is that the transition is going very well and that they have already started working on some new material that will hopefully see the light of day very soon. More on that as it materializes.

.:. NEW PAPER CHAMPIONS LP RELEASE DELAYED
 .:.  10.26.07
People, you have our sincerest apologies. From the looks of things it appears that the release of THE PAPER CHAMPIONS' long-awaited retrospective, Sounds from the Cutting Room Floor (RY009), will be delayed by a few weeks. We promise that we have been doing everything possible to have this record launch on time, but too many delays with vendors and our digital distributor have made our initial October 30 release date impossible to achieve. We will not announce a new release date until we are certain that all our ducks are in a row, so please be patient. As soon as we know, you'll know. Again we're sory, sorry, soorrrryyyy. The good news, however, is that we will still be accepting pre-orders, every one of which comes with an honest-to-god brand spanking new t-shirt. Not a bad consolation, we reckon. So stay tuned. We hope to have more information available very soon.

  .:. RETURN OF THE CHAMPIONS
 .:.  2.22.07
THE PAPER CHAMPIONS are at it again. It's been a year since the Atlanta-based quartet released their critically-acclaimed EP, End.Transmission (RY006), and the boys feel that it's high time that they crawled out of their rehearsal space and made some noise. While they have been hard at work on their upcoming full-length, there has been much demand from fans for more material. In response, the group is putting together a collection of b-sides, unreleased material, covers, and compilation tracks, including the much requested "Ask Emma" from Volume 9 of Deep Elm's celebrated Emo Diaries series. Tentatively entitled Sounds from the Cutting Room Floor (RY009), this latest work will be an Internet only release available sometime this spring. More info will be available soon, so keep checking back for updates.
.:. WHAT IS AND WHAT WILL NEVER BE (AGAIN)...
  .:.  1.24.07
We apologize for the seven months of being incommunicado. We realize it must have been hell without us. And all that boasting in our last post to boot. You probably think we're a bunch of liars, cheats, and scoundrels. And we are. But in order to win back your undying affection, we offer you a gift. A generous token of apology, if you will. Ladies and gentlemen, please join Reason Y in welcoming CHARLIE HUSTLE to the family. No, not the ex-Cincinatti Reds hitting machine with the debilitating gambling addiction, but the Atlanta-based rockers with a penchant for crafting riveting post-hardcore anthems. We're happy as all hell to have them, and you should be too. Their debut EP, Celberation for the Bride (RY008), will be released this spring. Take a moment and download "Themes in Dress," if you have the proverbial cojones. Try not to get too worked up. The record is still a couple of months away. So relax and look for more updates in the near future.

But that is not all. No sir. We've got some 'Champs info. Yeah, you heard me right. THE PAPER CHAMPIONS, sucka. It seems that the boys have managed to wrangle their way into the finals of the latest 99x local band contest. The winner gets to open for Rocco de Luca and the Burden at The Tabernacle. On this Thursday at 8am they will play the TPC track "A Long July" pitted against another local band. You must go to the 99x mornings page that day (Thursday) and VOTE ONLINE for TPC - as many times as humanly possible. Get your friends to vote. Your mom. Your sister. Your dog.

Finally, there is sadness to report. Much tragedy and heartbreak. It's not really new news, but since we have yet to post it here we might as well make our official announcement. So let's cut to the chase: Not one but two mighty blows have been struck the Reason Y family, as both PARTISAN and NEVER ONLY ONCE have decided to call it quits. Ouch. It still hurts. Our once formidable lineup has been sliced in half. But we'll be back in the thick of it soon enough. Stronger. Better. There really is not a whole more to say other than both bands will be dearly missed and that we wish everyone the best of luck in all future endeavors. We look forward to your new projects. Please come back soon with new and exciting sounds. We'll be waiting.
